With access restrictions, you're able to set whether your store is publicly accessible, or requires a login to access. For public stores, you're able to decide whether prices are shown, and whether a non-logged-in customer has the ability to add an item to the cart. This can be helpful if you want to display your catalog, but not allow people to buy unless they have a wholesale account.
