Earlier this month, we began rolling out the new Visual Design Editor, which is now in the hands of dozens of our merchants and partners. We have also responded to issues and feedback from our first wave of early adopters, and overall the feedback has been positive.
As such, we have completed the first cycle, and are ready to welcome others to take advantage of the new tools.
Who should upgrade today
Those who wanted to wait for the first round of users and issues to be completed should now apply for the upgrade. Hundreds of adjustments, bug fixes and improvements have already taken place to the new Visual Design Editor, and some of our merchants are already leveraging the new capabilities on a live store. The tools are able to successfully power customer-facing stores.
What to expect
- Upgrades will be completed within 1-2 business days of the request. We continue to encourage customers to do a review of their site once the upgrade has been performed, as due to the new settings there may be some quick adjustments needed.
- As we continue to confirm the stability of the Visual Design Editor, we will begin to schedule a cutover for any sites that do not voluntarily upgrade.
- At this time a final date has not been set, but we expect the cutover to take place sometime in the first half of this year.
- We encourage customers and partners to review sites upon upgrade. While every attempt has been made to ensure the transition is seamless, there can and will be small shifts in site templates that may need a review or adjustment after the upgrade.
Our documentation section for the new Visual Design Editor is growing and offering assistance for merchants and partners who wish to get acclimated with the capabilities offered. You can also see a list of known issues.
